‘India meets NRW: Sharing experiences between

India and Germany in the field of Renewable Energy’

          The Consulate General of India in Frankfurt along with the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digitization and Energy of the State of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW), Energie Agentur NRW and Confederation of Indian Industry hosted a webinar ‘India meets NRW: Sharing experiences between India amd Germany in the field of Renewable Energy’’ on 25 February 2021.

2. In the inaugural session, Hon’ble Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economy, Innovation, Digitization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Hon’ble Dy. CM Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan, State Government of Karnataka underlined the need for closer cooperation between India, focusing on the strengths of the federal states in particular the Renewable Energy sector which is crucial for achieving the targets under the Paris climate agreement and to work for a safe and sustainable future.

3. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dinesh Jagdale, Joint Secretary, MNRE highlighted major initiatives by GoI in the renewable energy sector, especially the Hydrogen Mission, while Ms Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner Industries from State Government of Karnataka, in her presentation, showcased Karnataka as a major investment destination given its proven strengths in innovation, automation and renewable energy technologies.

4. In the technical session, prominent experts Mr. Prakash BVS, Managing Director, Bharat Energy Storage Limited, Ms. Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath, CEO of RWE Renewables and Ms. Katherina Reiche, Chairperson of the Board, Westenergie AG (subsidiary of E.On).
