The office bearers of several Indian community organizations and FoI Coordinators attended the interaction.

After introduction of the office bearers, the FoI coordinators shared their experiences about the assistance provided by the Indian community members to the stranded Indians during the Covid-19 lockdown period and their contribution to the efforts made by the Consulate during evacuations under the ‘Vande Bharat’ initiative of the Government of India. They also shared details of their socio-cultural activities for the welfare of the Indian community in the regions under the jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Frankfurt.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amit Telang, Consul General of India in Frankfurt, appreciated the exemplary work done by the Indian community organisations under the FoI rubric and offered them full support in all their initiatives for the welfare of Indian community in the region. He also underlined the contribution of the Indian community members in the furtherance of the Consulate’s efforts in promoting and strengthening India-Germany relations. He encouraged FoI to work closely with the Consulate on various GoI initiatives including Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ to create linkages between leading Indian and German companies, institutions and enterprises.

Consul General recognized the role of the Indian student organizations in various German universities and socio-cultural institutions in promoting and preserving Indian culture and urged them to continue their efforts to deepen and strengthen the cooperation between India and Germany in cultural, educational and people to people exchanges.
