Visa – Information

important Information for the applicants

Only applicants residing within the Consular jurisdiction of Consulate (Hessen, North Rhine Westphalia, Rhineland Palatinate and Saarland) can apply their visa with the Consulate General of India, Frankfurt. In order to ensure that they reside within the jurisdiction of this Consulate, applicants are required to submit, along with the visa application, a recent copy of meldebescheinigung or the personal ausweis as a proof of their address.

2. Visa applications of Diplomatic/Official and UNLP Passport holders are accepted at the Consulate. All other applications are submitted with our authorised visa agency: -

3. All Visa applicants will have to record their Biometrics at the time of submission of their visa applications.

4. Your passport must have a minimum validity of six months and at least two blank pages at the time of submission of visa application.

5. Visa is valid from the date of issue. Acceptance of visa application and payment of visa fee does not automatically guarantee grant of a visa. Visa process may involve requisition of additional documentation/personal interview. Visa can be rejected or validity curtailed or visa category modified without assigning any reason. In case of rejection of visa or restriction of validity or modification, the Visa fees will not be refunded.

6. Visa applications can be submitted in person, through an authorised representative or Post at the service provider. Please ensure that the Visa application is signed by the applicant, the photo pasted and the copies of necessary documents enclosed before submission. The Visa fees can be deposited with the service provider by cash or through Bank transfer. Please visit the website, www.igcsvisa.de to check the details of the service provider.

7. Fee should be deposited only after ascertaining the correct type and period of visa applicable to the purpose of travel. The duration and number of entries granted to the applicant will be solely at the discretion of Consulate. No claims and correspondences shall be entertained in this regard.

8. Applications are to be submitted along with a recent passport-size colour photograph (size 2" x 2", with white background) and requisite documentation.

9. Applicants holding passports, other than German, must have a valid stay permit for at least two years in Germany for grant of Business and employment visas. Foreign nationals in Germany having less than two years stay in Germany are advised to apply Business or Employment visas from their home countries. For all other visas (except Business and Employment visas), stay permit of at least one year will be required.

10. All applicants should ensure the correct details in their visas immediately on delivery/collection, and in case of discrepancies, the same should be brought to the attention of the issuing authority without delay. Failing to do so, Consulate bears no responsibility for any consequences faced by the applicant later on.

11. All travellers to India, especially long-term visa holders, are advised to check the latest immigration and entry regulations before travel.

12. Applicants have to complete an online application at: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/  only after carefully going through the instructions listed on the web page.

Submission of the Application at the Authorised Agency

13. Please take a print-out of the online registered Application Form and submit the signed copy along with the requisite documents at the authorized Indian Visa Agency. The address of the IGCS Ltd is as follows:

14. Indo German Consultancy Services (IGCS) is the sole authorised agency to accept all visa applications on behalf of the Consulate General of India, Frankfurt. IGCS is also authorised to collect only postal applications for Passports, OCI and other consular services. No other agency is authorised to accept applications.
