68th Republic Day of India Reception on 27th January 2017.

Consulate General of India celebrated the 68th Republic Day of India with prominent political personalities, diplomatic corps and members from the Indian diaspora on 27th January 2017. The Chief Guest for the reception on occasion of the Republic Day was Dr. Volker Wissing, Minister for of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture , State of Rhineland Palatinate. Guests of Honour also included Mr. Stephan Siegler, City Council Chairman of the City of Frankfurt and Dr. Renate Sterzel, Councillor, City of Frankfurt.Consul General welcomed the esteemed guests and briefed them on the consistent efforts of the Post towards economic, educational, cultural and diaspora cooperation between the two countries. Minister Wissing emphasised the growing relationship between India and the State of Rhineland Palatinate with reference to his visit with a business and political delegation to India in November 2016. The evening rounded off with a beautiful dance performance by Ms. Durga Arya and her troupe and a cake cutting ceremony with the guests of honour to celebrate the occasion. Over 350 representatives from the business, political, diplomatic, educational and diaspora community attended the event.
