Republic Day Celebration

26 January 2015

On January 26, 2015 Consulate General of India, Frankfurt organized a reception to celebrate the 66th Republic Day of India. On this occasion, Consul General Raveesh Kumar welcomed the guests followed by a short address by the Chief Guest Ms. Eveline Lemke, Minister for Economics, Environment , Energy and Regional Planning of the State of Rhineland Palatinate. As Guests of Honour, Dr. Renate H. Sterzel, City Councillor and member of the Chief Executive Committee of city of Frankfurt and Mr Stephan Siegler, Chairperson of the City Council of Frankfurt also addressed the gathering. Bharatnatyam dancer Meera Varghese performed on the occasion followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. The Reception was attended by around 350 people from the political, business, diplomatic and cultural spheres and showcased the Consulate's successful outreach with both the German political and business community.
